I did it! I made one. I am selling them on quadratech.

http://www.quadratec.com/products/55023_003_T.htm

You like? OK, so I didnt really make THAT particular one, mine consisted of two bastardized hoods and a swazall, and that mess ended up on the scrap pile.

thanks dcorn for the link, i was looking for vents for my TJ that didnt cost an arm and a leg. i made a cowl induction hood for our XJ. a cheap plastic scoop did the trick.

they're not threaded. talk **** all you want i dont care. i havent even put them on yet. i was planning on putting one right over my afe filter and if i open it up it goes directly to it. and i can make sure if its raining or something that its closed off. and put the other one directly on the other side. i dont know if im even going to do. got the idea off this forum and the kids looking for ideas so i threw out an idea.

The hood vents people talk about on here aren't for ram air to the intake, they are vents to cool off the engine. Ever touched your hood after a long drive? Mine is burning hot and I don't like having all that heat under there.

See if you can find some hood vents off of a pontiac grand prix. You could probably find them on ebay for cheap.

Here are some real hood louvers. You can get a nice set from GenRight for only $50.

I'm pretty sure the radiator was still in the front. Correct me if I am wrong.

They were custom made, but they look very similar to the ones posted above. You can see the heat pouring out of them on hot days, and I've never had any issues with water in the engine bay.
