Highest mileage XJ with an I6?????

Ok i have not picked mine up yet-waiting for the weather to clear here in the N/W.-I'm trading my restored 68 El Camino (i know i'm loosing $$ don't rub it in please) and it has 168000 miles--Doubt that this is a record but was wondering how many miles w/o a rebuild is the norm??thanks Glenn "Buy high Sell low and make it up in Volume" works for me 2000 with auto --sorry

Definitely normal. Given it's had normal maintenance over the years, I wouldn't worry about it. What year is it and is it an automatic?

Had a 2WD 97 XJ as a daily. 285,000 when it left for a new owner, drove great.

270 here... going to try and take it much past 300, maybe even 400, if I can keep the body together long enough.

on my 3rd jeep here. First one (an '87) was a 4 cylinder but made it to 300k+. My second was a '97 and sold it at ~250k, my current is a 93' and has ~165k. This last one is in good condition, I would be shocked if it crapped out before 300k.

306k at about 291k head gasket started leaking into cylinder one. Put a $30 bottle of bars stop leak in and still going!!! That was 2 years ago. And that is not a true repair by any means but with that many miles I didn't want to sink that much money in the motor!! Now it's a big joke with all my buddy's to see when she'll finally crap out. Lol we'll find out eventually! Some day um maybe. Dang these motors are tough!!!!

I have a 96 with 255k on original aw4 and 4.0. Still drive it a lot. Valve train is noisy and manifold is cracked but it runs great and doesn't seem to use oil either.
