Head cracked again

hey guys, jeep broke it's second head, turns out the 02 head i got way back in 08 wasn't tupy, i caught it in time though and have a second car to drive for the time being, so if anyone knows of any TUPY stamped 03-06 heads for a reasonable price, please let me know, i'd appreciate it.

Did you not verify to see if it was a tupy? I mean its on the head it literally says "TUPY".

$455 shipped with a 5-year warranty. http://www.ebay.com/itm/400358011054 from Clearwater.

Or grab an 0630, fab some coil rail brackets and buy the exhaust conversion piece from the dude on NAXJA.

455 is a bit steep TBH but it is an option. i'm looking at going 0630, do you know if i can just run the compatible exhaust without throwing a CEL? i havent been able to find that answer. my exhaust is in pretty messed up and i'm lookign in a total replacement, if i can get headers that fit 0630 directly that would be awesome.

I had the same issue. I ended up going with J&C Enterprises (ebay store). They have 2 separate 0331 head's. I called up and spoke with them before ordering.

The $319 one may be the TUPY head, but they won't check before hand, and it's possible you'll get the weaker one. It's kind of a gamble for $100. LINK
$419 on may not be TUPY per se, but they are definitely the thicker, better casting (obvious to see around the head bolt holes). LINK
Free shipping, plus they include a return label for the core. One thing to note is that mine did not come with the manifold alignment dowels, you're going to want to check before sending it back, and pull the old ones out.

Edit: There were about 3 or 4 different casting throw offs in the head, where the thermostat hooks up. It's a pain in the a$$ flipping that thing around, but if you can, make sure that you do and get everything out of there. I ended up missing one, and the first time I started her up, I damn near ***** my pants from all the noise, and wound up taking the head off...again.
