Has anyone stretched a Cherokee?

I got this wild idea last night about stretching out an XJ to give a third row of seats. It wouldn't be too hard I'd imagine. You'd need parts from a wrecked 2 door, like the side windows and the doors so you could fill out the the rear doors to get rid of the wheel arch. I even did a mock-up in photoshop so you can see what I'm talking about.

Sawzall the back off a 2 door (rear door frame back) and then sawzall the 4doors back off behind the rear door, and then weld the 2 door rear end back on. Probably wouldn't work well, and would be a crazy crapload of work, plus all the custom bodywork and fabrication for the doors and such, and would probably have to strengthen the body, or build some frame rails to slip over the current unibody rails, so it doesn't just bend in the middle.

Do it and make a build thread with lots of pics.

It would be a lot cheaper and more practical to buy a durango, expedition, or something along those lines. It would be a cool project but not worth the time and money involved.

I wouldn't do it. Too much work and sacrifice of capabilty. It'd be cool to see but still

before I opened ur pics I was so expecting to see a 3 door per side setup like these stupid Hummer limo's you see around here now.... your idea seems decent but alot of work for kinda minimal gain. That said if you can do the work and have a junk jeep have at it, It would be sick with a 4-5" life some 33" tires and good frame building.

If you have the time and a junk 2 door, it would be a cool project. An unlimited XJ
