I know they are off on break for the Chinese New Year, but I was hoping some of y'all could help me out. I'm looking to mount a 30" on my hood and possibly looking to get some of the 2"x2"'s also. What's the best way to go about doing this?

SwampDonkJeep,

Rigid makes these hood mount brackets, but they are for a 10" light. Not sure you are going to be able to put a 30" on the hood. There may be other mounts for the JK that I am not aware of though.

As far as hood mount, it looks cool, but doesn't give you the best mounting position for a light as the hood itself is in the way to let the light shine below the hood level. Plus they are prone to reflect off the hood, further hurting your visibility. That's not to discourage you, just some things to think about.

I have one on my bumper and one on above my windshield. I like the angle that the one above the windshield provides. The angle allows you to get closer to the font of the vehicle and then as far out as you want to go. Plus the increased angle distance from your eyes helps reduce reflections back to your eyes.

Anyway, hope that helps!

Chad

That's comical. The 10w single bars beat these cheap Hanma & totron bars. The 10w 50" was measured at 39408 lumen. These lights measure just above 20000.
The difference is a 50" from china cost you 450 bucks. Its a 400w bar and the spot beam shoots over 3/4 mile. If your can out run 3/4 mile of light then you must be a class 1. Not only that but these Hanma & totron lights are deffinetly not hitting 3000 feet like the 10w bars are!
I'm talking soye led. 40 LEDs for a 50" & 400w.

Looking at the soye site, my bar looks like the same design. (It's an ebay special, no markings on it to say manufacturer, just cree and wattage stuff).

But anyways, the lumens you are listing are calculated, 1" from the LED multiplied by the number of LED's. Which means nothing for projected light.
My 20" bar gets me my trucks highbeams distance turning to daylight.
My trucks low beams are better than my XJ's highbeams, lol.

I see the market prices are finally starting to drop on CREE products. Extreme LEDs

Another option are these folks. http://explorationoutfitters.com/col...s/led-lighting I bought 2 sets of the 24 watt cubes and a 32" double row bar. The bar is amazing.

Stock 2010 dodge ram 3500 with High Beams

High Beams with Bar..... can ya tell a difference lol

If thats all the light output a couple hundred dollars will buy... im ok with that.

I've been talking with Vincent by email as well; sporatic communication at best. I was looking at getting 2 round 80W LED lights for my TJ, he just sent me an invoice for $253 ($100 each light, $53 shipping).....not the bargain deal I was expecting. Don't know if Hanma raised their prices after popularity or he's making some cash for himself.

After HOURS of starting at light, after light, after light on eBay and Amazon, I have found several people selling Hanma lights at really good prices, several are even offering free shipping. Me and a few buddies just picked up a 10 pack of the HML-1218 lights for $160 shipped,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291212258586...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
But after we bought, they added shipping to the listing, still @ $21.09 each, that's a killer deal.

And a couple of guys are grabbing 20" bars for about $65 shipped

Key thing is I've went back and forth probably 30 times today comparing lights on eBay to the lights on Hanmas website, making sure that I'm getting Hanma lights. I've looked into some of the reviews on lights that look to be from different manufactures, and found more complaints about lights not working after a week, not being water proof, not all of the LEDs working properly. Not to mention I've started to knot ice little things in the case design that looks like more thought was put into it on the Hanma stuff.

Biggest thing to look for with the Hanma bars is the end-caps, and they have the power cord coming out of the side and not the back.

This is a follow up of my two round LED's from Hanma; couldn't be happier; powerful as any other lights I've seen and they've taken a beating. I just got back from a 3000mi road trip with plenty of trails, flying debris, freezing rain, and diverse weather. I'm a fan.
