I am currently looking into building some half doors, as I am sick of hanging/leaning out the door window while wheeling. Let's see what everyone else has come up.

My plans are to have a built-in storage cubby on the interior side of the the door which will also house a fire extinguisher mount. Any advice is welcome!

This is on my to do list as well, and I had also made plans of using it for storage, it only makes sense with all the unused space there.

Im too tall to lean out all the time as well but dont care for doorless look, Im just waiting for a cheap pair of doors to pop up. Ive seen a lot of half doors through searches but Im like you, curious if anyone took the next step and got some more use from them. At least a cupholder haha

Fwiw YJ and CJ7 soft doors will fit the front on a 4 door XJ. Just have to make some hinge adapters.
