I was geting out of my jeep one day walkin to the shop I work at and a cop flags me down. he offers me 4 free doors for my cherokee! So time for some half doors.
I started tonight, 1hr 1/2 I got the insides out, my desighn started and door cut.

This is very easy to do just time consuming.
I got 16 gauge sheet metal to use for the arm rest.
I also added a cup holder from 3 inch exahust tubing and cut the hole after I got all my tacking done on the arm rest.

And I cut out the back side because I will be adding my own cover from sheet metal. So when removed I got plenty of room to work inside if need be. Also I will use it to put my handle to open the door.

That is why I made mine. But I kept the complete door frame around the door. Looks a bit more complete. I also made an inner door panel but ditched the door handle outside and kept part of the outside door handle. My build thread has mine in there.

I was going to keep my frame but I like it without it. But With the frame it looks clean with the door shut.

Yea, I prefer doorless but the cup holder is so cool I want to build some half doors just to deploy the cup holder idea!

The thing that really makes me jealous is the palm trees in the background of the pics.

It's 7 degrees and snowing here........:-[

What is your plan for the latching/unlatching mechanics?
