I'm not sure if there is room to run a true dual. Well......anything is possible, but it may take some fab from a muffler shop which could run you alot.

I'm sure there's a setup for the wj, that was what he was talking about right?

Very, very true. Free flowing exhaust plus more air and more gas in will definitely make a difference together. Apart they are negligible.

My goals as well, which is a big part of why I am so interested in your build.

Go with the banks header, even it is more expensive. Banks has a good reputation for quality. He tested his stuff seriously. A good designed header is a very good basic for further perfomance mods.
We usually wrap the header with heat shielding wrap to keep the heat in the exhaust and to improve flow of the hot exhaust gas. It helps to keep up speed of the exhaust gas.
The intake won't be that hot as usually and cooler air is, as we know denser. You will get the most gain with a bored out throttle body. It's a relative cheap mod, but remarkable.
But keep away from those sport filters. German military has tested them for truck use, because they wanted to save money with that reusable thing. But it turned out, that those filters let pass a lot of contaminants. Too much of them!
So stick with the stock box and change filters often and you will be fine.
You can reduce friction by using a good quality oil.

But it is useles to save gas, if you run those big tires on a daily basis. Friction caused by this tire size and thread is the cause for low mpg.
Over here we go with street tires and only change them when we go Off-road. It's to expensive.
If it is your daily rig, you will gain a good mpg with regular tires.
Just my
Michael

Haha, thanks Mike. Yeah, those CAI's do let a lot though. I mean people complain about the K&N's gumming up the TB, or letting too much crap through. True they can do that. My two cents on that is too much oil, gummy TB, too little and your letting a lot in. I will someday get an Amsoil cone filter. Awesome flow, but filters just as good as paper. Reason I have my filter like it is, is that i bought it that way, and am too lazy and cheap to go pull a stock box out of the JY. I dont really want to go back to paper filters. I like the noise my new bigger spectre filter gives the engine at WOT . True on the MPG gains vs. bigger tires. But upon regearing you bring your jeep back to similar stock mpg....so you'll still see it. I like synthetic oils and such, not cuz the mpg claims (which doesn't matter much in a jeep), but i like to give my engines the...."gormet treatment" if you will . Anyways, enough of me babling.

I like Syns because the engine is soooo clean inside. And to be honest, it's just the "feel" to have done everything possible to pamper the engine
I have built together with a friend, who works in that business, my own exhaust- it's just a straight 2.5" stainless mandrel bent tube without any muffler. It's a turbo- so it's not too loud.

just for fun, a picture next to my boyfriend's TJ when we met for lunch:

Annnnd, the XJ got new shoes as said above! Looks pretty good. They measure exactly 29" when mounted. They are taller than the BF's 30" toyo a/t's, and almost as tall as the roommates 31" toyo a/t's. They already rub on the inner fender wells when flexing like coming out of a parking lot....so the 31's would have rubbed pretty bad, so I'm happy with them!!

And here the XJ is looking at an explosion
