yeah, tuff stuff on the carpets and trim. I didn't touch the headliner because its deteriorating so I just have to replace it. Check Dothan's ZJ build (if you havent) and see what he did with tuff stuff! Actually he lead me onto using it on the carpets. Best thing is that those speakers arent blown...yet. They are old and have some distortion, but there is only the two front speakers (since its and se and has no rear sound bar). It use to have subs and an amp in it. They took all that and deck out but left the speakers and I had to chase all mysterious wires and pull them out. The amp and sub wires were still connected to the battery when I bought it but just cut off and left hanging on the inside of the jeep. You should have seen the mess of wires through the firewall. Wish I took a picture of that one. I still have a mysterious wire. It comes out from underneath my fuel pump relay, into the firewall, into a 10 amp fuse in the panel and then gets lost. The trailer wiring is also spliced into the tail lights.....so i've still got wiring work to do....uhg. I HATE messing with electrical.

Yikes

I hate messing with electrical, too, but it's one of the most important places to maintain because electrical problems are an absolute ***** to troubleshoot

Forgot to add. Last week I decided to rebuild the intake. Well there is no hood clearance AT all....so I ended up just replacing the filter. The K&N that was on there was really small, and had some sort of sensor input...but obviously no sensor, so I just replaced it with the big spectre filter. 3" tube. When I'm not poor I'll replace it with a real CAI, AFE or K&N. Don't mind that breather filter on the end of the valve cover vent.......was like that when I bought it and I dont have a drill to drill a hole in the intake tube to route it back. Here we go:

Thanks man! I miss what I had into the ZJ....mainly the exhaust lol. But I will have so much more fun with the XJ. It needs a lot of work still, but with no payments this one should come together nicely

yea the xj's seem so much easier to mod and more rugged than the zj. I have had mine for about a week now and am still making excuses just to drive it around. the zj was opposite, i would look for reasons not to drive it.

Haley, I know this is kind of comparing apples to oranges, but how does the XJ drive compared to the dub? I ask this because I'll most likely be switching to an XJ once I get rid of the WJ. Oh, and I'm tryin to get 6,500 or 7k out of my Jeep. Bad part is, the market for WJ's around here is crappy.

I'll be the one to say it, the XJ drives more like a truck than anything, the WJ handles more like a car. Thats what I've always thought. Throttle is also much more jumpy and responsive than the WJs

^^ He is right Jeremy. Have you driven a TJ before? Its like combining a TJ and a small truck together, only its really light. But its fun! I actually prefer the XJ to the WJ because its so much lighter....about 1000lbs lighter. Its lower to the ground too....so IMO handles better. Mine needs new shocks, but so did the WJ. The dub was tippy, but plush, the XJ is tight and solid. And yes, the throttle response is better than the WJ. Though I had the H.O. so it went to 5600rpm and 40mph when it shifted into second at WOT, the XJ's lightness and torque compare to it honestly. Its super fun.

I couldn't have described it any better way. Although I love my XJ and will definately miss the way it handles, I would swap it for a WJ in a heartbeat. The ZJ is kinda in between the XJ and the WJ. I drove my friend's TJ and whoah, that was an experience. It felt extremely light and awkwardly maneuverable, I didnt really like it too much. And if you want to compare to WK's well I am biased seeing as I got to drive my friend's, which is a fully loaded 5.7 with aggressive performance upgrades, it blows away all the others, however has MANY more blind spots than the others. The XJ is nice, very small blind spot but I definately felt better on the highway in the WK

I saw your pictures and walked out to my Jeep and took off literally all of the plastic on the outside. Soooo much better looking now. Still gotta figure out a good way to get the 3m tape off though. What did you use to cut your fenders?

eraser wheel for the tape. an auto body/paint shop should carry them
