gas tank skid

I have a 1999 factory gas tank skid pan ,will it work on my 1996 model or should I hand it over to my buddy with the 98 cherokee

As far as I know, gas tank skids are 84-01 compatible.

XJ gas tank skids fit either 84-96 or 97-01. You can modify them to fit, but it would be easier to just find the one you need, or trade with somebody in the same situation.

I used a early gas skid and modded it to work on mine. They are hard to find here .

Same. It didn't take much to fit it

ZJ gas tank skids will easily fit a 97-01, one bolt hole on each side needs to opened up slightly. IDK if they fit 1996 and older.
