Gas Mileage

I've gone 270 miles, went to the gas station filled all the way up and put in 15 gallons.

SO, 270 miles ÷ 15 gallons = 18 mpg, I'd really like to see 20 mpg

Does that sound right? I have a completely stock Cherokee, the spark plugs, cap, rotor and wires have 11,000 miles on them. Oil changes every 5,000 miles. The tires are new, and all inflated to 30psi. The air filter looks clean and is fairly new. I only accelerate to 2,000 rpms, the roads I mostly travel on have stop lights and I usually never go faster than 50 mph.

I can't think of anything else, there is nothing in the jeep other than my body, my registration, insurance and owners manual.

I just filled up, so I'm gonna give this another shot and hope for the best.

PS: I have a 2.5 inch catback I installed a while back and an APN header I just recently installed.

Gas gauge and speedo aren't totally accurate and gas pumps aren't all the same. For best calculations use gps to determine distance and always refill from the same pump for the best calculations. You may very well be getting 20 now.

You need to check over several / many fill-ups to get a better idea of your mileage.
And you should be thankful for 18 MPG. Many of us get less than 15.

I got roughly 22 on a highway trip from Pensacola Fl to Virginia Beach VA. Just watch your starts and stops. Coast when you can. Youtube hyper mile. Lots of tips there.
