Funny thing happened at the Sonic drivethrough

I yelled into the mic for the guy to give us a minute to decide what to get, and he said "Okay. Can you please turn off your engine?"

I didn't realize the stock 4.0 was so loud, but I guess it does sound like a diesel!!! He was probably surprised when I pulled up and it wasn't a redneck special F250

Imagine my GT with longtubes, no cats, straight through mufflers, and a centrifugal supercharger with straight cut gears. It doesn't really sound all that loud to me, but when I turn the car off, its like the world goes silent.

i dont know about you guys but i like my vehicles quiet when idleing and cruising....but when ya get on it too open up

my SVO sounds like stock idleing and just barely louder cruising.....push the skinny pedal and it gets way loud exspecially when the blow off valve lets go....lets just say you can hear the BOV over my exhaust but i guess 27 psi will do that

loud exhaust saves live

the droning can get old when you have to shout at your passengers but whenever that just happens, i drop it down a gear, speed up and then upshift.

it usually drones around 1400-1700rpms.

i'm like the other guy, I like it fairly quiet when it's idling. my subie sounds quiet to me when I'm driving, but when I pull up to a drive thru, I love to hear the boxer rumble bounce off the building and the little turbo whistle through my 3'' exhaust. it makes me feel warm inside haha

my personal favorite (and probably the only reason ill go through the drive thru over walking inside) is when i hit the gas and let out the clutch where i can get it really loud. whenever i leave the drive thru, i quickly hit the gas and let out the clutch and its funny to watch peoples reactions and it sounds bad ***

lol i always cut my engine off and roll into drive throughs. Then when I'm about to turn back on and go to the next window I always warn them to cover their ears and then turn my jeep on. They appreciate it afterwards I've worked fastfood so I know how it can be.
