Front tow hooks vs front receiver hitch
I own a 2000 Cherokee Classic. It is mostly a DD except the occasional fishing/hunting trips. I am wanting a front tow point but idk which to get. I've heard receiver hitches are more versatile but I'm wondering about how well it would fit and how hard installation would be for either. PLEASE HELP!!!

Both are easy to install. Both do the job. A receiver hitch will strengthen the front end by tying both sides together. You will never be pulling on just one side. That would be my choice if I didnt have a JCR bumper.

What brand do you recommend? Draw-Tite or Hidden Hitch? I've read elsewhere that Draw-Tite is more concealed

IMO front receiver hitches are ugly, IRO's set of tow hooks are super beefy

IRO hooks or a hitch are my vote. I had a draw-tite model. Instead of cutting the lower air dam so the hitch was hidden, and protruded from it, I just cut it out between the end caps. The hitch nearly perfectly took its place and it looked great IMO. I had bought the hitch so I could mount a winch. I never did get a winch until I had upgraded to a front bumper though (with receiver). I did use its pull hooks a few times, worked great.

If you move trailers a lot, especially in tight places a front hitch is priceless. Another upside of the hitch is you can put a carrier on it for additional storage.
That being said I have the IRO hook setup converted to a flat tow bar with Metalcloak D-ring tabs. It's super strong, tucks in nicely, is well made and reasonable.

Front hitch install was cake compared to the rear.

Will the IRO kit work with a factory front skid?

Do some hitches stick down more than others? I want to get one eventually for a winch but I'm afraid of gettting one that's going to have me hung up on everything.

All the ones I have seen hang down no more than the stock air dam.
