The comanche my motor, axles, t case, and a whole bunch of other little parts came from used to be a department of public works truck. Only had 32,xxx on it but body was trashed as was the interior. Had major rot, looked like a pretzel, and had tar everywhere lol.

what whaaaatt, 3rd owner, had one fender bender, odo stopped rolling at 136999 but they have proof that it was working 6 mo before i bought it at 134xxx, that makes me feel good, but on the downside... it was a northern vehicle til 2011.. which would explain the rust, but actually not that bad

3rd owner! also found out it was some type of FLEET/RENTAL vehicle... it does "check out". all service records from 1996 are pretty easy to follow and can see was very well maintained! good to know.

The xj: 6 owners! Holy crap, 1 accident reported in 2006, but it has been is phx az it's entire life. That explains why there is no rust.

The TJ: 4 owners, no accidents, been in Albuquerque till 2007. Sold at auto auction in 2006 and brought to az in 07. No rust!

What does this mean about my mileage? The last date is when I bought and registered the Jeep. What would make the mileage drop twice over the past few years and not flag as tampering or rollback? Engine swap? Twice?

Mileage: Date:
221,000 10/07/2009

211,000 03/12/2011 Not included in rollback calculation

191,000 02/22/2013 Not included in rollback calculation

Thanks for the info. seems like a lot of dealerships have caught onto this and limit it to their inventory...but I found one! My first lived in IL, then it moved to IN. with the owner I bought it from when they moved out here to CA. Pretty cool stuff...

It would be my luck for this to stop working when I really want to see it for a Comanche I'm looking at!
