I think it all depends on the overall condition of your Xj. You mention that it has 250,000 miles. Unless it is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition otherwise I would probably let it go. There are plenty of nice ones out there.

I am not all that mechanical and don't have much free time so i end up paying for most of my repairs. If you can do the work yourself you might be able to justify it. Good luck!

I have been looking for a replacement but i figure im just going to hold on to this one. Good mud toy at the least till the frame breaks then its perfect for parts for the replacement jeep

I wouldnt bother trying to plate those rails. By the time you get those rails clean enough to weld to theyre going to be awfully thin and theyre going to continue rotting from the inside.

Are you sure? I think it may be the seats, and he just pulled one of them. Im surprised the seat didnt fall out the bottom.

If it runs good I'd pull the motor and trans also the axles and scrap the body maybe pull the windows too and sell them
