Thursh welded sound really good and they are pretty inexpensive. Thats what I plan on putting on my xj.

opening this up again, I was just wondering if the flowmaster super 10 series single chamber was street legal, soundwise, on the straight 6 I know on a v8 its too loud and illegal but just wondering on my jeep. Thanks guys

I think the super 10 is a little too aggressive for the 4.0L. It just sounds like a really loud tractor and says "look at me everybody I have a loud exhaust BROOO". IMO, just keep your current muffler and get the magnaflow. A new cat should open it up a bit.

I've had almost every flowmaster muffler on my jeep, and I've changed out my exhaust more than I want to admit. Some claim I have an exhaust "fetish".

There is a big difference between being loud and sounding good. The Super 10 will definitely be louder, but won't sound as good as your super 40. If I were you, I'd get a 2.5" tailpipe fitted. That helps open up the exhaust and make the sound a bit deeper. When I had a highflow cat, 2.5" super 40 and 2.5" tailpipe, thats the closest it sounded to a V8. What cat did you get? The highflow cat?

No it was just a universal, I couldn't afford the high flow. I do have a 2.5 inch out the back it does sound nice, I will prolly leave it. Thanks for the advise
