i personally wouldnt pay that much for a rack. you can find nice ones on craigslist for less than half that price. it may not be made for the "XJ"... but a nice rack is a nice rack. i think ive said that before. go with 31s, 235s are alright, but i was running em on my XJ when it was stock and they felt to small. i would save the $$$ either way and find a NICE set of used 31 muds and mount em on your stock rims?

well i just love cragars and they are cheap, so i would just mount them on the 235s i already have, could i get any money out of the rims i have on there?

I've ripped off two mufflers as I said. Maybe I just push my rig harder or maybe its the trails I run. Not sure.

Remove rockers as in REPLACE with 2x6 tubing. Its done all the time on Pirate4x4, I did it on my old XJ, on my buddy's and it will be done on my next one.

I don't run a roof rack because there are two trails that I run often(two of my favourites) that have downed trees that lean or large branches that overhang the trail. 99% of the time I'm sure its fine for a roof rack though.

Is it just me or are there a lot of confrontational people here? lol

save your money on the 235s. As soon as you drop the cash for um you'll be pissed. Find some used 31s for now and start saving for a real 3-4.5" lift and 33s. It WILL happen to you, you think you'll be content with 3" and 31s BUT NOBODY IS...........................

i have 235s right now, tried the used 31s route, got screwed, and i would LOVE 4.5 and 33s but i just dont see that happening anytime soon with my cash flow. right now i wanna build a mild LCOG wheeler that looks good

started my lift saturday........... lots of problems. right off the bat, stripped a lug nut, tried cutting it out, didn't work, had to take it to belle tire. drivers side upper shock bolts, both broke off. drivers side shackle bolt, stuck in the bushing. plans are to drill out shock bolts with easy out, and cut out shackle bolt with a sawzall, here are some pics.

that shackle bolt will come out no problem, just torch it for 5-6 minutes and then pb blast, hit with a hammer, then torch for 2 minutes again. then it'll come out

Yeah Michigan weather is not nice to jeeps, my ex bought a 2000 XJ classic that came from michigan, it has more rust than my 90 xj, and was missing the enrite pass floor pan.

dont have a torch, we just rented a sawzall from home depot for 20 bucks, came right out. wore out 2 blades though

im a little bit nervous about my floor plan, it has had a quarter inch of water a couple of times after a hard rain. i'll probably bedline it and leave it that way, everything just costs too much
