Durt Divers 98 build (lots of pics)

alright its time for me to start my build thread, with my lift coming closer and closer. i got my xj in may of this year for 2900 with 183xxx. (cherokees really hold their value in MI) it had a little bit of rust, a rattle in the cat which me and my dad soon replaced, and the fogs, rear wiper dont work.
Day i got her

first thing i did was paint flares and take off the ugly mud flap

today i smoked tailights and side turn signals but i didn't feel like tearing everything out to take out the front turn signals. i'll smoke the front turns later and i'll just tape them off.

tails are drying right now i'll post pics when its all put together

so i picked this 2inch bb from RC on craigslist for $60

worn 31s off CL for $160 with rusty d windows (shouldn't have bought but i'll deal with em)

now im just looking for some jk shocks and i'll install the lift.

how she sits right now:

in the garage: 31s, 2inch bb
future plans: nates4x4 or jcr bumpers, roof rack, daylighters, H.I.D.s, tints, hitch, subs

for the front turn signals just unscrew the headlight surround. Its two screws on each side, then you pull that out and see the two screws holding in the front turn signals. Takes about 5 minutes.

your XJ would look nice at 2" - 3" on 31s, rock sliders, large roof rack, bush gaurd, some lights and a flowmaster 44. whats your rear end on that beasty? did you get lucky with a chryco 8.25?

Hello, I noticed you have an XJ. I have an XJ as well, would you perhaps like to go wheeling?

Skip the flowmaster. I learnt pretty quickly that flowmasters sound great and work great but are also in love with the rocks. I tore off my original muffler, installed a flow master and then tore that off a couple months later on another trail. Skip large mufflers and use a Cherry bomb. I have one on mine and it doesnt hang down, its a solid glasspack so it takes a beating and never catches, and it doesnt sound all that loud.

If you have a heavy foot I might lay off the glasspack but otherwise its a great mod.

I'll be running 1.5 inch lift and 31s with a little fender management, as for rock sliders maybe it would be beneficial for you to remove your rockers and install 2x6 steel tubing as a replacement. You keep the ground clearence but also get the benefits of indestructible rockers.

I always liked roof racks and lights mounted on it but I cant do it in my area because of the trails.

WTF?.....What strange mixed bag of opinoins

--I wheel the ROCKY mts and my Flowmaster must HATE rocks since it's never hit one <cough> driver error <cough>

--Remove Rockers? <passes crack pipe> We are talking an XJ not a YJ..and I wouldn't even do that on a YJ lol

--Even in tight overhung jungles rigs run roof racks
