i finally have some more updates

i got the danna 44 set up under the jeep

i ended up having to build my own upper link bracket

my upper link mount is gonna end up going through the floor so i cut a hole

im gonna plate around the hole so i had a plate cnc plasma cut out of 12 gauge

while i was waiting for some parts i decided i would start finishing up the cage work. i ended up having to cut out more of my cage than originally planned

i got my A pillars tacked in place

and just a picture of me welding some link brackets

Looks good man. Did you cut a little cast off of the housing to fit the coil bucket?

Looking good man, I like that axles side upper link bracket. What's it made from, 1/4"? Any reason you didn't build in some adjustability? What frame side bracket are you running? I setting my 3link up now on my ZJ and hoping I can get by without chopping up the floor.

I've seen a lot of people do this, and have a friend who snapped his D44 at the pumpkin because he removed too much. He also jumped it ~5 feet in the air without a decent landing though. I ended up cutting my drivers side coil mount out a little larger on the pumpkin side so that it sits flat, but I don't remove any material, then I'll just weld the mount on top of the cast piece. Nah mean?

ya its built out of 1/4". the reason its not adjustable is clearance, i couldnt get the uptravel numbers i wanted with an adjustable bracket. im using ruffstuffs frame mount link bracket, im sure you can get away without cutting the floor.

heres the bracket im using

was your friends axle trussed?

That's the same frame side mount I have, hopefully I can make it fit. The axle wasn't trussed, it was a Clayton's housing narrowed to Waggy width, but IIRC they say not to jump or abuse the Jeep because of the potentially weakened pumpkin.

im sure you can make it fit, the reason my bracket is going through the floor is to get the vertical seperation i want.

i honestly dont know yet, its gonna come own to headroom. with the old cage work i only had about 4 or 5 inches of headroom without a helmet on and im only 5' 7". i couldnt let anyone taller than me ride in the jeep because there head was just to close to the cage for me to feel safe if we rolled. if i do just run the single tube theres gonna be gussets on every joint and possibly a double A pillar. hell most class one cars run a single tube and i wont see speeds aywhere close to the speeds of a class one car.

you can see this one car just has the single tube at about 2:10

nice build. i'm gonna see if i can't get one of my buddies to go half on some equipment to help us both build. I'm not going all out with mine quite yet haha... one complaint though i just have to make... the front fender where you cut out. you should just cut that up higher. it looks really wonky in my opinion. talking about where it comes to a point behind the front bumper.
