DPV/FAV as an accessory for my XJ

That's right, I'm looking to add a desert patrol / fast attack vehicle to my XJ.
I'm building bumpers to match the front and back end of this little puppy.

My problem is finding one. I have more than enough reference photos to dupe one but would rather spend my time more constructively. Does anyone here have one of these buggys or has anyone ever tried building one from scratch?

Are you trying to convert your XJ to this or do you just wanna have bumpers/outter cage with weapon mounts? I was just a bit confused with what you want to do...

Oh hell no, I like my Jeep looking like a Jeep. I'm just going to make a matching front bumper to the buggy's.

My problem is finding one of these buggies. I want one, BAD! If I can't find one I'll build one.
I'm wondering if anyone in the group has seen one, knows someone who has one or might have some insight as to how to obtain one. I've seen conflicting articles that state they're east to find (not so much for me so far) or that there are only 12 in private ownership.

They were made by Chenowth and are based on the chassis for a super beetle.
That's all I have so far.

In case it's still not clear.....I want one of these buggies as a towing accessory for my Jeep. Not part of the Jeep but for the Jeep to tow places...where the buggy can be let loose to run on the dunes.
