Doing the Headlight Upgrade on my XJ!

What's up guys. Just ordered the LMC truck Headlight Harness for my XJ. I Plan on buying the Hella E Code Conversion this week as well. My sealed beams are HORRIBLE and I want to be able to see the road at night. Do any of you folks have any bulb suggestions with the E Code's? Just want to talk with someone that may have done the upgrade.

You'll notice a big difference just with the harness. I've got 55/80w Hella bulbs and they're great, infinitely better than the stock lights. Ive got bad eye sight at night in general and have zero complaints with them.

Easily one of the best upgrades I've done.

Thanks Motorcharge. Yeah my eyes are getting worse and It is hard for me to see at night. Right now I can barely see 10 ft in front of me at night on my stock Sealed beams...Well with holes and water in the headlights. I'm going to do it right the first time. Hella bulbs. Never seen those. I will have to look for them tonight online. Thank you for the information. Hopefully this will cure my night time light blues!

Im running Hella 80/100w bulbs in my Autopal H4's. Im not real sure how much the higher wattage bulbs are compared to street legal wattage bulbs, I did my harness and bulbs at the same time. I do know it was night and day (so punny) difference over stock. X2 on one of the best mods ive done.

Apparently they're 60/55w, but these are what I got http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're not insanely bright like some people's I've seen on here but they do just fine for me.

I have Rampage H4 housings and the Halla 65/100 bulbs. Best thing in the world. Great light spread and the low beams don't blind oncoming people but can use the 100w on country roads for deer

Well I have to have something other than these sealed beams. Even brand new I can't see well at all. My other vehicles have bright headlights in them and I get into my old Jeep and feel like Jeb has a flashlight on the hood shining. My harness should be here this week. Going to order the Housings tonight. Get this show on the road. Next I have to figure out this oil Leak I have. Going to start by replacing the Valve cover gasket.

the harness alone will make your stock lights like 2-3x brighter. i started with new seal beams , then a few months later made my own harness and what a world of difference!

How much money did the whole upgrade cost you? I have been really thinking about getting the Truck Lite LEDs. I do a lot of driving at night.

You can do the whole upgrade for around $100.

For the money its easily one of the best XJ upgrades you can do.

I agree. I do a lot of night driving and I did the H4 upgrade with the IPF housings and harness. It is an awesome upgrade, especially on rainy nights and in the snow. The headlights are one of my favorite mods on my XJ. The H4 housings are also more friendly to other drivers and won't blind them when aimed properly. The Truck lite LEDs are probably the ultimate headlight, but they also have the ultimate headlight price tag.
