DIY Hi Lift and spare tire mounts

So when you buy a $200 45X60 Surco roof rack, of course the high lift jack mounts should cost half as much as the rack did...And of course the mount to put the tire on the rack is almost 2/3rds of what the roof rack costs....

So absent cash I built a set...

The spare tire mount uses two aluminum U-channel pieces from an old computer rack.

I love that stuff. I sprayed the lower body on my '02 Intrepid with it and loved how it worked with the Onyx Green paint. Have plans to do the same to my XJ when i get the time this spring.
Should work well with the silver too.
