No, in '96 they switched the pcm for emission controls and diagnostic improvements.

It's just sitting in the shop right now. Got it when we got my sisters xj.

The computer controls are different, but the engines are the same and will still bolt right in. Just hook up the sensors in your Jeep to the swapped in engine.

Any 1991-1999 4.0L Cherokee engine will bolt right in with minimal changes. 1993-1998 ZJ Grand Cherokee 4.0 engines will also fit. 2000 and 2001 Cherokee 4.0 engines will fit as well, but you need to use the head off your old engine for it to fit right.

Cool good to know. I'd like to have this engine in the jk.

Well then, I've got a spare for sure. I was expecting my ZJ 4.0 was different and wouldn't be a straight swap. My ZJ will get a V8 and the crazier build.

It's quite a ways down the road, but it'd depend on which prime candidate I come across first. I'd rather just find a white niner, instead of hassling with the swap.

I got the radiator fixed and she's back in the driveway tonight. So far, so good. If that's all that was wrong, I'm blessed.
So, on goes the visor, finally...
...and the door handle dp...
...and the black vinyl.

I did get something done today. Checked the fliuids in both diffs. Found my grinding sound. I went and bought the socket I need to take care of the transfer case fill plug.
The visor is going on Friday, so I took some compound to the Jeep and waxed it.
And the weather is going to be decent for awhile, so I'm gonna plan, again, to get the dp on the door handles.

As of now, the epoxy is drying and the tape can come off the door handles tomorrow. Then I'll take pics.
