My hood is perfect! That's the problem. I'm an insane perfectionist, if I'm gonna cut it, I want it to look like it came from the factory that way. Rather than cut the holes out, I intend to do some folding and finish cosmetics( the insane part is that'll be the most in depth process that'll never get seen

The way I plan to fold the sheet metal into the holes, I may be able to turn that into reinforcement for the weight.

14.05 cu. In. Each slat will weigh about 1.25 lbs... over a rather large area. Plus I'm not removing the bracing in the hood.

The holes in these panels are not lined up with each other very well. I put the two pieces back to back and clamped together. They will serve as templates for each other. There's about 1/2"x1/2" at both ends of each hole. I got 4 holes done in 5 hours, and 12 more holes to go

What got me started on the dp was my admiration for chrome rockers. I figured it's a Jeep, it should have something more rugged than chrome. And then the new Quadratec catalog came out, and Thank You Warrior Products. From there I came across a set of dp bedrail caps and tailgate cap. Those became the air dam and the hatch bottom.
The pieces for the hood are heavy sh!+, 1/8". These came from this jacka$$es boat. They covered the black part at the back where he put the smaller chrome plates

I have to agree, Ive never been a fan of diamond plate, ESPECIALLY in the chrome/polished variety. But, you have been running a a clean build and I can respect that. Keep it up, mr. Perfectionist! Lol

After I get the hood vents in place I'm gonna go to work on my stock bumpers. The end caps are coming off, bumpers trimmed at 45 degrees, and dp end caps (very tastefully done

The purpose of the end caps is to visually narrow the body by narrowing the bumper ends. This will make my stance look better.
Stance: I like the wide look, but even the little bit of rubber I have showing wont let my rig stay clean. Again, at least the paint matches the dirt where I live

I dig the angle cut bumpers, I did that on my last 99.

If I dont buy/build a bumper soon, I plan on angle cutting the bumper and running it like that for wheeling trips, then putting the caps back on for the street. Those big 97+ endcaps is mainly where I rub on hard flexing anyway.

Get to work and keep the pics comin!
