My answer to everyones first question: Why rivets? Cuz I live in a trailer park with a bunch of white trash kids that can't leave things alone.
Rivets have a nice finished look to them as well.

In my defense (for going with a clean look), in medieval times, the best knights wore the nicest armor

I feel like it wouldn't offer that much protection then.

Go hit it with a hammer or bang it into a rock and see how your rivets hold up. They'll probably snap. :/

They're stronger than the plastic junk I took off and far less susceptible to even getting hit.

Aluminum 1.5"/.125 tube, galvanized angle, and roof lights. I have a piece of dp to use for accents, but ... I don't wanna overdo it

I did a mock-up of the roof rack with steel tube left over from the paint booth. 1.5"OD/ 1/16"wall, powder coated.

Putting the tire on the roof tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. My brother has been pushing me to do it. He says there's something "not so offroady" about my Jeep, but he thinks this may be the key. I'll have pics tomorrow to get some opinions.
