didnt wanna put this in the tech side cause im not looking for parts or build info. curious to know the luck people have running stock 44 waggy axles or maybe just re-geared ones pushing 35's or bigger. its no moab over here but theres def some fun to be had on rock trails and mud

I run dana 44s out of an 89 grand waggy. Spooled front and rear, 4.88 gears, and chromo shafts up front, oh yeah and 35x12.50 mtr/kevlars. So far ive had no breakage of either axle, yet. Definately an upgrade from a dana 30 and a chrysler 8.25 in every way.

Interesting. I was under the impression that the Waggy front 44 was passenger side drop?

i think it was some of the early waggys that were passenger side drop, mines a driver. was kinda hoping for a passenger, give me a reason to run a dana 20 t-case haha.

2doorxj, how do you like the front spooled? you running it with hubs, cause thats what i was thinking and then just a true track in the rear.

Early waggys are passenger drop, they aslo ran a axle disconect for a few years you want to avoid.

Its a little difficult to steer offroad, being spooled front and rear, but im upgrading to hydro assist very soon.

The two things you will have to do is regear and get all new brackets. So it gets costly, however you just have to understand that its the same cost to regear your stock axles. They are definitely a good upgrade, Even though they are only d44's they still look beefy next to the d30.

My waggy 44's just need all new brakes until there going under my jeep.
