Just an idea, maybe someone who can't be bothered to fix the phone number on their web site isn't someone you want to do business with?

If you ever do get the cage, take pics and let us know how you like it.

Yeah, it's a good deal. Sucks to hear about their customer service. I was hoping to maybe purchase this cage sometime.

It's only $450 because it's HREW and not DOM.

Are you using their new site or the old one that comes up on Google?

Last time I checked their site Dom tube was an upgrade. Either way a cage is safer then no cage at all.

It is, but it's not like the DOM upgrade is free and they don't list a price for it.

And not exactly. A false sense of security is dangerous. HREW is a one roll cage imo. A roll in it is going to greatly compromise structural integrity compared to DOM. There's plenty of places to skim on price on a build, a cage is about the last place I would.

I don't want to sound like a dumb backwoods redneck when I say this, but isn't the main difference between DOM and HREW a seam? I'm sure there are strength difference, there is no doubt in my mind. I'd trust HREW, but I've seen a piles of rigs roll with HREW, and even **** pipe cages and never even dent them. I'm not talking a regular roll, but roll multiple times and keep wheeling. Not trying to start a cage fight

DOM has a seam, it's just not visible from the DOM process. DOM is HREW but it's put through an additional cold strengthening process after being rolled to cover the weakening from being welded. The process is more important than anything else and a lot of places sell import DOM that's virtually the same as HREW. You want US made 1020 DOM, the difference is substantial. Good DOM will have Made in the USA stamped on it somewhere.

HREW is fine for sliders, bumpers, and even parts of cages, but I wouldn't build the main portion of a cage from it. There's a reason pretty much every offroad sanctioning body requires a DOM cage. Just because an HREW cage gets rolled and you don't see dents doesn't mean it hasn't been damaged or weakened. It's fine for a flop over and in most average off road rollover cases it's enough, but given the amount of time, money, and effort going into a cage you might as well do it right the first time and spend a few extra bucks. Just because something is rigid doesn't mean it's structurally sound.

This is a couple years old so the prices aren't current, but you can see the difference in strength is pretty big.

Prices vary big time by area, but around here you're only looking at about $1-2 difference per foot. Might as well spend the extra few bucks for almost twice the strength. Pre-built cage they're probably charging double though.
