Mirror mounts would be a good idea, But I wouldn't buy them unless I had a cage installed in my XJ to stiffen the body when the doors are off, But I would probaby buy a spare set of doors and cut them into half doors anyway keeping the factory mirrors

Saw this and the post in the wrangler thread from your friend lol. You could make a unique style light bar, make it look real cool it would stand out more from other jeeps. Maybe make it heavy duty so it can take tree branches hitting it but the lights would still be safe. Or if your not concerned with that you could just make a really cool looking light bar, Thats whats so cool about being able to Fab your own stuff, wish i had the tools and the talent to do that lol

Thanks But its for engineering class so we get all the schhols suplies to build it. i like the light bar idea may have to look into that to see how doable it is.

If you're getting the school to supply the materials then build something a bit more than a light bar, like a bumper or a custom ford 9in housing. Depending on how exotic they'll let you get with materials and processes you could make some really cool parts, like a titanium skid plates, an all aluminum 4.0L, magnesium shift knobs, or other crazy stuff.
