I pulled the sagging fabric off (it was shot)...rubbed the glue that remained behind on the board with a vinyl bristle brush to get it off. I laid down 2 coats of acrylic lacquer (spray) then a coat of bed-liner (spray).

I think I might do that actually, I redid my headliner and its just sagging again. How does it hold up?

Well...I finished it this past weekend. So...it holds up good for 3 days at least It looks good...I imagine it won't take to getting hit by sharp edges all that well (there's no fabric protecting the foam), so I'll have to be careful of that when I'm loading up my camping gear and stuff...but I think overall it'll be fine.

It doesnt take that long! You could get it all done in one sitting. Remove trim, pull headliner, clean up, prime and paint, let it dry overnight and install. It was quite simple for me, and the paint turned out real well, just roll it on, i wouldnt recommend using spray paint.

I would be fine doing it if the guy I bought it from didnt rip it all out incuding clips and dome light. He then said he burned it all on a hunting trip in the camp fire. He said he was tired of the foam in his hair. I am sure he and his buddies were drunk. Lol

Ok..I know this is probably a dumb a** question but what kind of fabric did you guys use to re-do the headliner? (I pulled mine down 2 weekends ago because I just couldn't take the crap hitting me in the head anymore) I've looked at actual headliner material and wow that stuff is pricey. I still have to pull the headliner board out and clean it off..hopefully if the weather holds this weekend I'll be able to get that part done.

I used this thin flannel like material, you can use basically anything you want. Just try to use a lighter material
