Pretty self explanatory. I just used a spray nozzle that would slide in the heater hose and flushed from both sides until I felt I was able to get it all

Only problem with CLR'ing the heater core is sometimes the gunk is the only thing holding it together still.

Ask me how I know.

^ This is true. My heat was so terrible I was willing to take the gamble.

Camfam, I just disconnected hoses (on motor side), took my air compresser on about 16-20psi and blew all coolant out to empty the core. Then took a 40/60 mix of water/CLR (filled a plastic Solo cup up) and poured all of it into the core and let sit a lil while. Then blew it out with the air compressor in the outlet hose, and put inlet hose in milk jug to catch the sludge that comes out. Then rinsed with waterhose. Repeat until clean. Pray your heater core doesnt 'splode. Ive got pics in my build thread somewhere but I forget the page.

Ive got several months on my rig since I did this, heat works good and no leaking core. Your mileage may vary.

I haven't been on here in some time so I figured I'd post a small update. I started a new project back in December, and I just recently moved, so my jeep has been neglected, and it has began to show. I'm having a cranking issue that I think may be just bad connections. I have not hunted it down yet. Few other small things that have been fixed as well. I was able to get it dirty on Saturday though... That's about it though, just driving it pretty much

Cooling sucks! It ha done good all fall/winter. Now that it's warming up some, it's been running warmer. Sugar sand and long highway running will make it overheat. I don't know why. Anyone else have this problem?

Depending on how long I let it go, the jeep can reach catastrophic temps. If I stop for just a minute, it will try to cool itself back down. Temp is low to mid 80's right now but it's going to rise soon

Could be transmission or transfer case .. Change your fluids .. Use synthetic. You may be low on fluids ... Are you loosing coolant?

No I'm not losing coolant. Not low on fluids, skeptical on synthetic fluids on old seals, and I'm wether or not the transmission would transfer enough heat to cause the motor to over heat
