crockett's 92 xj build

k so i finally got my xj running right. my dad had this xj and the throw out bearing went out in it, well he had trouble pulling the tranny and gave up on it. i offered him 400 bucks and made it mine. few days later me and a buddy towed it to our place to work on it. cause of work he havnt had much time. well yesterday i pulled the tranny replaced the throwout bearing, and went ahead and replaced the clutch. 5 hours later from start i had everything back together and ready to fire her up. well she diddnt fire. turned over and over but no fire. checked the fuel pressure its all there, so its 9 at night and im tired of working on this thing so i head in the house. this morning i went out in the shop and noticed i diddnt bolt the crank position sensor back to the bellhousing. bolted it back up and she purrrrrred.
so this is my xj
92 4.0 h/o 5 speed, 2wd

future plans are:
fab roof rack, and bumpers
winch
4wd conversion
4" lift on 33's
window tint
paint

update: not anything special but my muffler was rusted to nothing so i cut it off and went and got a flowmaster super 44, ran the pipe out the back and welded a 4 inch chrome tip at the end. can barely hear it in the cab and outside it has a nice rumble. very happy with it

went to the only pick n pull left around here today looking for my 4wd parts, and found this

couldnt find a manual 4wd transmission and transfer case so i just settled for the dana 30 that i scored for $50. gunna throw it in when i do my lift in a couple of weeks.

Wait so you were planning on using your xj to tow your Yj on 38's that's probably weights around 4000 pounds? Not being mean but a half ton truck is barley up to that task.

Nice xj though! And score on the d30.

Love the look man, wheels and tires look great.

How do you like the KM2's? I keep going back and forth between KM2's and All Terrains just because I know the AT's will last 70,000 miles or so. How quiet are they at interstate speeds?

the kms's pull great offroad. especially for only being 2wd right now. they're not that loud really. if you have the windows down and the radio off u can hear them but nothing the radio cant drown out

guess i might be getting my jcr DIY bumper sooner than i anticipated. left to go hunting tonight and my buddys gf parked her jetta behind my jeep. no back up lights led to my bumper on top of her hood. crinkled it up real nice bumper got a lil dent in it but nothing serious except an excuse to upgrade. ill get pics in the morning

i payed $110 a peice for them at my local tire shop. i think they look better than the cragers because they have more depth.

on another note, today ive dropped the transmission for the 3rd time since owning the jeep. something came loose inside of it and im tired of dropping it so i went and bought another transmission from the junkyard to hold me down until i can get all the stuff to finish the 4wd coversion
