Cherokee SJ for offroad? Vs XJ?

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Cherokee_(SJ)

So this car looks pretty boss. How does it fare when compaired to other offroad vehicles? Particularly the XJ.

Also... It's not technically the wagoners right? I know it's Wikipedia that I posted, but it does say Cherokee SJ. I like that older macho look but if it can't compare to XJ than idk if I will get one.

Have you ever seen one in person? They're huge compared to an XJ. It's totally possible to build them into a good wheeler, but they are quite a bit bigger in every dimension. Think K5 Blazer - only a little longer.

Really cool rides though - I've always wanted to find one and build it. They've got tons of character..

I believe you. The picture doesn't do it justice I totally thought it wa similar in size to the XJ. I can't finding though. Most are the 4 door wagoneers, Which might be the same? I'm not entirely sure.

And yeah they look sweet! Unique shape, and detailing.

Its basically a 2 door wagoneer(I know i will get flamed for this).

Definitely cool to build. I hate to see them, along with J-trucks wheeled b/c they are so rare.

Haha I've seen a few built up one on Craigslist a little bit ago. Looks pretty sweet.

I had a '79 years ago. 360, 3 spd manual. I still kick myself for parting ways with it.

BTW, they are not as wide as a full size, or K5 Blazer as stated above. More of an EB width. Def alot bigger than an XJ

Way more solid feel, gobs of power, roomy, Sounded great. Outstanding rig. A pleasure to drive

They are rust prone and gas pigs though.
