changing to 4h

Hi people. I just picked up a 97 Cherokee. In my old 88 Cherokee I used to be able to change from 2H to 4H while rolling but that was with a standard transmission. I'm wondering if it's the same with the auto transmission in the 97.

I have an auto trans and I find it easiest to switch when rolling in neutral.

I shift from 2H to 4H or 4PT while on the fly in Drive.

I drive an Orange.

You don't need to be in neutral, but I let off the gas-pull back on handle-lay on the gas all while remaining in Drive.

Don't engage your transfer case while doing retarded speeds. If you need 4wd then you shouldn't be driving that fast.

You vote last monday?
