I'm just going to point this out. Do you think it's an insult to call a Yenco a Yanco? Maybe you should check your own spelling before you attack someone else for their accidental mistake.

touche, but the next sentence has the correct spelling. I think i was more irritated at the fact he compared a decal package on a jeep, to a all out performance treatment to a extremely thought after muscle car. I suppose i was a little out of line being that it is a jeep forum, and most of the forum users arnt outta grade school yet.

Because saying that puts you back in line. You are going to do a good job of pissing some people off if you keep up like that.

I just had to toss this in... I know the thread has gone a little off course, but how did so many forget about this little fella?
I think these were either special order, or dealer install... I've seen a handful farting around here or there.

As has been said, I bet it was a dealer job to spice up a regular XJ. I remember in the early 90's, dealerships would slap "GT" or "Sport" decals on a car that was still on the lot shortly before the new model year's came out as a way to get rid of last year's model.
I can't tell you how many Tempo GT's & Sports I've seen.

"Farting around here or there" ?? I like that term. Slightly degrading yet not completely insulting... Well put Rob. I have yet to see one of those liberty "woodys" in my area.

Before my wife sold our Black Commander (or Stall-ander as we began to call it after 6 months of dealership service visits - yeah for extended warranty, this time) and it was SUPPOSED to be my future tow biatch for the XJ, I was dead set on doing this to it once it was mine, despite my wife's protest.

So you are saying you wouldn't recommend one? The roommate was thinking about looking at one... I don't know anyone personally that's owned one to ask.

Our 2007 Hemi Commander spent 6 weeks in the service department while the engineers and service techs sent recordings and suggestions back and forth. Plugs, EGR, PCV, Plugs, PCM, Ignition Module, Ignition Switch, Firmware Flashes, 8 New Coil Packs. There is a very long thread in the XK section about stalling issues. Stalling in traffic, stalling when accelerating from a stop, stalling while driving on the freeway, stalling when approaching a stop. Wife grew understandably weary and felt unsafe.
We bailed out.
