the dana 300 is a cast iron bomb proof case, only down fall is that the gears are a little higher than the 231 (2.6:1), i had one in my 1 ton yj for a little while, they are cheep as hell and easy to come by

What you should really do is a 231/D300 doubler.....

I need to do some research on doublers and the d300. Honestly guys I think d300 or a doubler is a little out of my skill range.

I like doing things different but I'm afraid I would get in over my head with something like a doubler

yeah its been a while since ive been around here, the yj build lead me more towards pirate4x4, but im gearing up for a new build soon thats a lot less hardcore than my yj

i dont blame ya, i had a dana 300 in my yj for a little while and it was a bit frustrating at times, but if youre thinking about doing something a little different with a 231, a 300 isnt much different. they make clock rings and flip kits that pretty much make them bolt in. and the doubler kit makes the 231 bolt up to another 231 or 300 with a little work and tig welding
