Chromo's don't make the joints stronger, but the ears on the shafts don't flex as easily so they don't spit caps as much. I'd bet 90% of U-joint failures are due to the clip coming out, or the shaft stretching, which allows the cap to come loose, then that loose trunion will tear up the shaft. I ran 36's on a locked and chromo'd D30 hard and blew up the R&P before shredding a shaft. I guess the real answer to the 'small' u-joints in the D44 is RCV's.

Also Brookhart, what are your plans for the 60? I hope you're going 35 spline, or else it's not a great upgrade.

I agree with this. The ears are stronger on chromos and they are less likely to stretch. I was just making a point on the U joint itself.

I ran AlloyUSA joints and they seem to do well if you keep up with greasing them. For the $$$ I'd run 760's next time though.

Looks good from my house. Are you just welding together cut pieces of sheet?

Well it's a little thicker than you run of the mill taillight box material. Maybe a lot thicker.... its what I had laying around so I used it.

Nah. I have a feeling the side lights would get destroyed. I wanted it to be smooth on the side
