Haven't done much lately, I've been moving into my new place and still working 45 hours a week so no progress or changes have been made.

The XJ pulled a trailer great though and carried all of my possessions across town by itself.

Load after load.

I have tomorrow off so I'm going to try and get a few little things done.

Made a little progress today, I'm happy to be working on the Jeep again and actually have a nice garage to work out of. The new house is a good change from the apartment.

The paint on the rockers had started to peel a little because of rust underneath that wasn't fully removed, so I touched it up.

Also decided to spend 10 minutes fixing my power windows, now all of my window switches in all of the doors work like they should. <- Favorite fix of the day.

This is all you need, and you really don't even need the tape.

Remove kick panel.

Tie these wires in together.

Bam, windows are fixed.

Also cleaned up my rusty hitch and painted it a fresh black.

Rust removal and prepping.

In progress.

Painted the 8.25 cover as well, I was tired of seeing the leaky fill plug. Now it makes the rest of my axle look terrible. I would pressure wash it but since I go wheeling so much it would only be clean for a few days tops.

Final coat on the hitch.

All finished.

Painted the center of the hubs as well to make the wheels look better. The dookie color really took away from the shiny Cragars.

That's all for today. More updates later.

Got tired of the prerunner look and decided to get rid of the spacers and the track bar drop bracket yesterday.

Before I got started good I had to get everything back together really quick and move into the garage because of rain.

Love having a garage!

Front coming apart.

The '79 watching me work.

I don't think this bumpstop was doing anything.

Coils compressed yet again.

I still don't understand what is going on with my lift. The front still sits higher than the rear, even with the longer Daystar shackles. The leaf packs are brand new, not add-a-leaf, and there is no weight in the rear of the Jeep. I don't know, it's not by much but it's enough for me to still notice. But whatever, I'm tired of messing with it.

Called up the guy that I bought my shackles from and he says he has a factory front skid for me if I want it, so it looks like my first piece of armor will be installed shortly.

Got these today.

Not bad for 50 bucks. The front skid has been reinforced with angle iron and it is hefty. The transfer case skid is a factory part but it's better than my non-existent skid. Both are powder coated black and are solid, not even surface rust.

Will be installed tomorrow.

Thanks guys I appreciate the comments. The garage is such a huge improvement over working in my apartment parking lot haha. I'm taking the XJ to the alignment shop today to have them straighten the steering wheel, and then I'm going to Lowes to get some grade 8 bolts for the skids. Also, I'm going wheeling in five hours!

Well my day didn't turn out as planned. I have to wait till tomorrow to get the Jeep aligned again because the shop was so busy today, I can't install the front skid yet because my Rough Country sway bar drop brackets are in the way and I have to get extended links or disconnects before the skid can go on, and my friend Tommy with his Xterra on 33s can't go wheeling today as planned because of several problems he's having, and Stephen can't go wheeling today as planned for several reasons, and I am NOT going to go by myself again, so it looks like I'm just going to stay home tonight. Bummer, oh well.

What a shame, everytime one of my buddies ask me to go wheeling and ride shotgun, he changes his mind the day we are suppose to go

We actually ended up going anyway haha. It turned out to be a quick decision at about 7pm last night to just man up and do it. I took a couple of pictures, nothing special but I'll post them up a little later.

Right now I have a question- what do you guys think I should do; new 31s and keep the body of the XJ stock, or 33s with trimming and Bushwacker flat flares?
