Got the other ecu... everything works 100% and she fires.... BUT -_- than dies after about 2 secs. Got p1686. Which is a SKIM code. More or less says its not the correct key and shuts the motor off. I DO NOT have an electronic grey key? I've tried to reset the ecu with the disconnecting and turning headlights on/off trick. No luck. Gonna let jeep sit with battery disconnected for a little and see what that does.

Is there anyway to get around this without a dealer?

Skim was an option so if it was on the jeep you got the ecu from its not going to work...

And FYI I have swapped same part number ecus on my 98. No flashing needed.

hmmm... the guy had 2 other ECU with the same numbers. Does anyone know a way to tell from the ECU numbers if the vehicle had SKIM?

So can you get back to modding it now? I need some people who can keep up with whatever creation Ian might build me.

So many people to thank here's a start to the list
Spidertrax, Yukon, rustys, warn, branik, PSC, advance adapters, Bad wheels, interco, essentially off-road. And many more

Most of all thanks too Ian Johnson and the xtreme off-road crew for all their work, and 4 wheel to heal for their part in it too.

Haha well Idk about following something on tons and 39s but I'll try haha

Jeeps running fine. New steering is awesome too it's nice to hit bumps and not have the whole jeep wander lol can drive with just my wrist on the wheel again.

Wheelin last night with TJ was good time. Found out my Km2 are better on ice than his brand new mtkr lol

Next mods to come are install the sliders and rear disc. Idk after that have to see.

So happy to be able to drive it again finally. And its snowing here now so even better

I've said it before and I'll say it again. My tires are better on ice. You had momentum the whole time. I stopped to let you go. So.... Under identical circumstances, mine would be better lol

Saw this gem at a gas station the other day... id say it was a little neglected its whole life

idk what happened to it cause the tcase was hanging down too? im assuming the ujoint on front shaft blew and took everything out of they hit something? all i know if that is the worst rust on an XJ ive EVER seen!

Driver side axle seal started to leak on Jeep today so gotta swap that out ASAP. Always something fun going on...
