Wash them down with a good de-greaser. Scotch bright the whole thing and wash it down again (I use the Duplicolor degreaser). Hit is with a good thin coat of a metal etching primer. There are some good ones that come in a rattle can with a quick dry and recoat times.

Light sand once good and dry, then hit it with a good top coat of compatible rattle can paint to your primer, or my personal fav POR 15. Only issue with the POR is you need to clear coat it or the gloss turns to a flat in about 6 months (no UV protection).

I actually used Krylon Fusion Semi as the top coat on my brush bar and it has lasted incredibly well for 4 years now!

Will do. I'm gonna prime em And finish them with bed liner instead..

But the jeep is still dead got a short detector off a friend and traced the bus wires. They were good from ecu to main plug under the dash so I think its save to say wires are good. Gonna try a new TCM and possibly another ecu if I can find one at junk yard. Calling for 4-8" here tomorrow so jeep is gonna have to wait again :'(

Honestly, with plans to beat on them, I'd scuff 'em up good, wipe down with a good degreaser, prime, paint. Nothing fancy. Why bother? You're gonna hit 'em again with more rattle can in time.

Very true. I have every intention of using them lol BUT im weird I still like things to be clean and shinny haha ill probably clean em with lacquer thinner scuff em, prime em and than just bed line them. The bedliner will be easy to touch up too. my GF wants em as a step so some texture to them wont be bad either

Thankfully here i didnt touch but it had me ripping a hole in my seat lol

a ****ty painted slider on here would drive me nuts lol they gotta look good too! haha
