The XJ is the prefered vehicle of the zombies who are going to take over the world. So Id say theres about 2 million left.

My guess would be, uhhh, at least 1,000, in my town, of roughly 30,000. I see them all over, some old ones that are highly neglected but still on the road, an a$$load of 97+. And of course i contribute, 2 of them are mine. but i see more wranglers and ZJs than anything, and an occasional MJ maybe once a month. I love it when i see an older XJ thats been taken care of though. I will definately always own an XJ, if not multiple. Summers got me itching for a softtop tho.....

How many are left,,, good question. When the electronics start dumping in them and they need a total restore it will kill a bunch. If Jeep would make a good replacement for the XJ many would get parked, not likely.

I'd say about two million or so left. I'll never sell my jeep. If technology becomes available for time travel, I'll just go back in time and steal a brand new one for parts..In the process, maybe see my parents and hangout with doc brown.

It's sad that people treat an amazing, discontinued vehicle as a disposable car.
Way of the world I'm afraid - There are quite a few here(UK), on eBay selling for spares? I guess the owners can't afford the rediculous prices quoted by the 'stealerships' for repairs...I was 'quoted' $600 by a bosch specialist to replace my faulty no1 (diesel) injector, parts & labour (it has a needle sensor valve which communicates how much fuel's delivered to the fuel injection pump) fly by wire technology...baa humbug!!!

The injector from 'bosch' costs new, $ 10mins work by the 'specialist' to fit = $300 labour charge..thankyou very much, I'll have some of that

It's a good job I know how to weild a spanner(wrench) or mine would be on the 'bay' as spares or repairs???
Diesel Cherokee..........Now that's sweet

well i know they are getting numbered seeing as it was pretty hard for my to find one that fit my wants through carmax and when i was looking some were gone in just a few days of being listed.

but i know ill have mine for at least 10 years and im kind of planning to end up having it as a toy and get something else to DD... heck if i have to ill gut the thing and just keep the body and frame and rebuild it as a project, i love the body style too much

i wan't to have fun with my xj's. if that also means making them somewhat of a disposable vehicle then so be it.

I don't build a rig for wheeling just to baby it.

im pretty sure there are plenty of xj's that will outlast this generation anyway.
97 xj
44 front, detroit, alloyed
60 rear, detroit, 35 spline alloyed
35" beadlocked km2's
3" midarmed
more bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at
