Any of you smokers had this problem with your xj?

Mine is a '99 I dont know what other years are like mine, but have you ever put your bic lighter in the place where the ash tray goes and it turns sideways, and then have to fight like hell to get it back out. I love my xj but that is aggravating!!!

I try to put it in the cup holder but sometimes I miss and it goes in the ash tray (I dont put ashes in the ash tray). I keep the lid open on the ash tray because thats where I put the remote for my radio.

I don't smoke but i have also noticed that if you put a tin of chew in the rear cup holder its there until ya get a pair of pliers to rip it out and spill snuff everywhere...

You have good enough taste to buy an XJ, now go buy a Zippo!

Hey, at least you have cup holders

If women can have a closet full of shoes, I can have a safe full of guns.

At least you can store stuff in your glove box or handy shelf.

Garage
not a problem anymore (quit smoking, going on 2 weeks now), but I used to keep my smokes and lighter in the front cupholder, unless I had a coke or I was wheeling, in which case they go in the garage door opener place in my overhead.

That goes into the category of things Im not allowed to buy anymore, such as expensive sunglasses.

I got a question. How do you remove the ashtray to empty it ?

Does it come out of the console ?

Tried to pry it, but I don't want to break it.

The insert was not in mine when I bought it so I am not sure. At the very least you can shop vac it out until you find out how to do it without breaking it.
