Air Con Help

So I recharge the air conditioning in my XJ a couple days ago with my brother using his gauges. Immediately after, the air conditioning was blowing ice cold and worked great. I hopped in and drove to work, but on the way up the compressor clutch disengaged. I thought maybe we over charged the system and that it would turn back on eventually. Once I got out of work after a 12 hour night shift, I turn the AC on and it worked great again. But today it did exactly the same thing as the first day where it would be cold for maybe 30 minutes after that the compressor clutch would disengage and not lock up again. I check the connection for the clutch but everything looked OK. Thoughts? P.S. the previous owner replaced everything on the system.
