99avant's XJ - extreme budget

I hydrolocked my WJ, and needed cheap transportation while I figured stuff out. So I found a 94 XJ a few towns away. The guy had been trying to get rid of if for quite some time. Wonder why it hadn't moved on him?

Things done to it right away, just to get it home:
Front shocks were missing
Fuel filter had a leak
Alternator was making a racket
Wheels/ Tires

Not pretty, but I had a running vehicle, with very little cash expense.

Luckily I had some wheels laying around that I had bought for the tires.

Hideous... So I painted them. Real quick rattlecan job.

Working on a few things this weekend-

Hood latches are broken. Installing hood pins
Wipers/Cruise/Horn do not work. Wiring an aftermarket switch to the wiper motor. I can live without the cruise and horn, but need the wipers
Possible head gasket. Occasional white smoke out of the tailpipe. May be loosing coolant, but need to confirm before tearing in

ZJ brake conversion parts are in the mail. That will be done next weekend. The drums are shot, and the parking brake stuff is a mess. Figured the disk conversion would cost just a few more dollars and be a better solution than a rebuild.
