99 XJ Small Truck Build!

So im finally gunna be starting the "chop-top build". If any of yall got a chop-top dont on your cherokee's , if ya could give me some tips and some pics of your project i would appreciate it. and im looking into doing mine a little differently. id love to have an actually Short Bed on it. so id be taking everything out the jeep. and it pretty much turn it into a Jeep Cherokee Short Bed Truck! thats my dream, but of course that would be alot of time, and of course money. wish me luck! again if yall could give me any tips on how i could do this or what i could use to ya know get started with my build. id appreciate it

Man if you need that kind of information you should not start this project...especially if you haven't even researched one bit of it.

My suggestion is sell it and buy a nice Comanche short bed...obviously that would make much more sense since they're literally the same thing.

If you're still into doing all of this work for a 99 Comanche/Cherokee then visit Pirate 4x4 and start searching.

I mean dont get me wrong, ive done some research and went through all of the materials, what id have to do in order to add the truck rear end. and so on. but i was just wondering for yall's opinion on my idea. And ive looked for a Comanche ( within 100 miles of my location) and i found 2. and they wanted Way to much money for them. And i got this cherokee a little under 5 months ago. got it for $500 and have put $3,000 into it. Im attached to it ya know? i dont even wanna picture me getting rid of it. but thanks for the website man, ill go check it out .

That thing is hideous...I love Jeeps but no way in hell I'd drive something that looks like a quad cab Dodge Dakota.

so your going to chop a cherokee for more room?????

the only valid reason i can see to ever chop an XJ if if your building a buggy on 1 tons, with a cage, and all the fixins.... anything else is stupid.

IF I was going to do this, I would simply chop behind the back seat and make it a 4 door with a TINY bed. Just big enough to haul nothing.

No...you'd have a red headed step child that would make people say "WTF? No seriously...WTF?". That's all you would have with that mix and match Jeep.

I'd have to suggest that the OP has no idea where to begin this project or how in the world to make it work (safely) so his most unbelievable best idea he could have next is BUY AN MJ!
