'97-'01 Factory Rare / Odd Combinations.

What makes your '97-'01 XJ Rare or Odd from the Factory???

I've got a 2 door 5spd 4x4, PW, PL, CC, Fogs, Rear Defroster & Wiper, Tinted Windows. Patriot Blue of it matters. I don't know what rims were on it, because I got it used with the Aluminum 5 star.

All my power windows work. Thats pretty rare.

Honestly my Jeep is so NOT rare that I even owned another XJ that was identical option wise, right down to the color.

Not sure this is rare at all, but something found to be a bit odd. Had an 01 XJ Sport, had every option you could get in a Sport but no cruise? Seemed odd.

And I now have a 97 SE with nothing BUT cruise.

Honestly, there are only two truly rare XJ's I can think of--the Stealth and the Executive--both European only, and they were actually not built by Jeep but modified between the factory and the dealer by a separate company. OK, three if you count the diesels which were export only as well.

Anything else is only rare because all XJ's have been slowly disappearing over the years. I suppose Wagoneers and Briarwoods could be considered rare. Maybe Chiefs were rare even in their day as well, but that might be pushing it. They're certainly rare now, but we're almost to the point where any V6 or Renix era XJ could be considered rare these days.

It'll be sooner than many think if people keep beating on them and trashing them, taking them for granted.

The only thing that will kill XJs in the long run is that they're unibody and the fact that people think they're worthless because they're a dime a dozen when in reality they're already getting harder to find.

Not a rare option but my interior on my 2000 when I bought it used was literally brand new... lol still had some stickers on it and plastic cover things. But it has 130k miles on it!

If I had the money I would be collecting them. Any time a friend or family member gets a new car I tell them ya it's alright I guess but you could have bought 15 Cherokee's
