'94 Cherokee engine/ drivetrain compatibility question(s)

Hi..... I have a '94 Cherokee for sale (more or less for parts) and wondered what other year Cherokee's it's 4.0 liter 6 cylinder motor, 5 speed manual transmission and 4WD (floor shift) components are compatible with. Good to know in case an interested buyer doesn't know, right? Are there many (or any) other years that match up or no? Thanks for any assistance with this ....... Also, I was confused about whether to post this thread here or on the "Technical" subforum. Hopefully this works here.

Basically everything.....

EXCEPT

The 5speed trans changed rear spline count in 91 IIRC

The 97+ transfercases have an external slip yoke and the driveshaft is required to be changed as well.

A potentially interested buyer had mentioned over the phone that my '94 4.0 liter engine wouldn't "fit" in a newer model Cherokee. I think he was going on heresay though. That's why I decided I'd ask here. That assessment didn't make much sense to me. Thanks for the reply, Holder350.....

Thanks again, Holder. Did Jeep (Cherokee) stay with a floor shift 4WD throughout the 90's or were late 90's - early '00 models equipped with a pushbutton type?
