I find, 4" lift and 31's just look fine. Proportions and drivability are still good. Considered that with 33's you have a lot more stress to the driveline and very bad allover ratio you will have to fix alot rubbing issues. Gas mileage will also be negatively effected. 4" lift and 31's is no problem at all. If you dont want go higher than 4" and spend alot more money and hours of work, I'd forget the 33's. I have a 6" lift and 33x10,5 and still everything is close to the tyres and need a well considered bump stops and trimming.

In principle no. However no Jeep is like the other. I had a 4" OME lift with 31's and I did not need other bump stops. However, it depends on your wheels also... I have 7x15 Dotz Dakar wheels with 5mm offset. Coming out a little more. If you are running 31's on stock wheels (13mm offset) you might have rubbing at rear on the inner fender side. Same is with steering angle limiter. In case you running stock wheels with 31's you will have to limit sterring angle with wheels having less offset it will be okay.

Buit if you want to be on save side, add spacer to the bump stops same as your lift increase.
