4.5 inches on 31's looks dumb. ideas?

Hey I just lifted my Jeep to 4.5. Now my tires look way to small and I was wondering what it would look like on 33 1250's on 10 inch wide wagon wheels. How much trimming would be needed? I would assume that I would have to trim more since the wider tire with more backspace. Would 15x8 on 33 12.50 look better? Mainly for looks and to get my tire away from leaf springs. I'm re-gearing when I get a 8.8 in.

I run 235's on 3-4" lift and I like the look, so 31's on 4.5" can't be too bad.

But, I think a 10" wide wheel is WAY to wide (visually) for anything near that small. 15x8 would be better.

So maybe i should just get 15x8's? wouldnt that make the tire shorter?

So i like the way it looks from the side.... not to mention it flexes like a champ, but the back looks like it will tip over.

15x8s will reduce the overall width, and it will hold the bead better when aired down than a 10" wide tire. The Tire will be exactly the same diameter regardless of the wheel, as that is dictated by steel belting that constructs the tire, it cant get bigger or smaller (it can bulge and flex the sidewalls, but the tread surface doesn't change unless its super overinflated and even then it would barely increase the size).

I think it looks great, the wider stance you want can be accomplished with different backspacing or wheel spacers. I personally don't like the tires sticking out past the flares much. 12.50, on a 10" wheel, with around 4" of BS (likely what you would get) would stick out a good bit more than my preference. And if your trimming, your likely going to be removing the flares which will make it look wider as well.

For aesthetics its of course all personal opinion, I only know what I like, I can't tell you want you like. If I was looking for a 32 or 33" tire, I would run on a 7 or 8" wide rim with 4-4.25" BS to keep it tucked in, or else get some bushwacker flat flares to cover the tires on a 3.75-4" BS 8" wheel. But I like my tires covered.

I have been known to have very specific tastes as well, so I may not be the best person to encourage you, .

When I was at 4" of lift this is what 32x10.50 looked like, when I went to 6" they look tiny.

@4"

@6"

Agreed With the stock fenders it looks better with 6".

I think it looks fine but you should put some attention into the lca's. Your frt axle is sitting back a tad to much. I would invest in some extended or adjustable lca's before doing anything else.

I'd do the 15x8s 15x10s look a little weird with 12.50 tires. also your rims are sticking out there to catch on rocks and tree stumps, and you get a little more side lug with the narrower wheels.

mine on ~5" with 33s

I think it looks good with the 31" on it. I do however agree that it looks a little tippy. lol I bought a set of Soft 8 wheels off of JC Whitney with 3.75" BS (15 x 8) and really like they way they look with 31" tires. They do however hit the stock flares if you aren't careful with the bump stops. Almost did some impromptu trail body work that way once.

4" or 4.25" BS on a 15 x 8 would be ideal.
