3" lift and wheels

Hey just curious if anyone knows if 31x10.5 tires on a 3" lift rub or touch in any way? It's my dd and I don't want to cut or trim anything. With a 3" lift does that guarantee no vibrations? Also where in central Alberta can I find cragar 8's, local tire shop is no help

With a 3" lift you may or may not have vibrations it all depends on the Jeep .

My XJ Rubs with a 3" and 31's but it only rubs when offroad with a tire stuffed into the fender well with the wheel slightly turned

I do not get any vibrations with a T-case drop in my XJ

As for where to find Soft 8's in Canada I cant help you there

See pics for how wheels are when my tires rub the bottom edge of the bumper end caps

Pics look good! I ordered a BDS 3" kit yesterday then I started worrying about vibes and getting a SYE. Is there a good online wheel tire combo in the U.S? Local tire shop goes by plus or minus millimeter offset and I just know I need 4.25" backspace

I run 3.75" Backspace 3.75 to 4.5" backspacing works great for XJ's

4wd.com

will allow you to create a wheel and tire package Their Rock Crawler wheels are tuff as nails I've ran them on 3 different Jeeps with out bending any of them, My friend totaled his 97 TJ when it rolled 4 times a few years back after hitting black ice and going sideways at 60mph he was running rock crawler wheels an they were still strait even after the violent rolls, He is running those wheels on his 05 Rubicon

Yes, 3.75-4.5 is the shiz. I run 3.75" BS on 15x8 with 31 x 10.5 x 15 and around a 3.5" lift (was taller has sagged some). If I were to do it again, I would go 4-4.5" BS.

Good call on the BDS kit, they make really nice stuff.

I run 4" backspacing now but ran 4.5" on my 01 with 3" lift and really dug the look. That backspacing will help keep you from rubbing on the body as well when compared to 3.75".

Mine rubbed on the bottom inner fender. This is due to a lack of lower control arms with the lift i purchased. This was with 3" 31's and 4" backspacing.

I had rubbing at 3" and 31s with stock wheels, and then I decreased the backspacing (spacers) 1" and no more rubbing on the control arms.

Up and down isnt an issue, bumpstops are set properly, if not a tad redneck style (hockey pucks RTV'ed to the spring perch)

Im the guy who makes new gauges, check out our gallery at Teamadw.com

On my first jeep I had a 3" RC add a leaf lift with 31s and craft soft 8s. It rubbed a good amount. Added 1.5 spacers within two weeks to get rid of rub

I have a 3" RC lift and had 31's robed a little. Then I put 33's 12.50 on 15 by 10's pacer D spokes. Now I need new front fenders and a few more inches of lift. Lol
