#3 Build thread 92 XJ
Well once i got my last xj to the point of getting it cert and smogged came to the realization that what i thought was just some typical tourque converter knock, turned out to be piston slap in #5 and #6:mad:, so my loss was some kids dream for a mud machine:shhh:. So went out looking and found a bone stock 92 xj lareado with 267 000 km on a 4.0L. its been sprayed every year oil changed every 5000k and washed every week. never driven in winter because the P.O.'s were a couple snow birds that went to their time share every winter and garaged the ride. only issues are the clear coat is ruined on the hood and roof and just yesterday the upper coolant hose that attatches to what I believe is a 4 post mixing valve which is a bakelite material cracked. I just re routed the hose directly back to the rad and just forgot about the heater core for now. the cruise and factory ac work and compared to my yj this this is a dream ride, no teeth chattering or back breaking :2thumbsup:

i need to take some pics but so far added some 31's with minor trimming they do rub on some bumps but just bought a 4.5" rc lift and some jks disconnects which I am hoping to throw in this week. tinted the windows and blacked out the hideous chrome grill, peeled the corny plastic trims off the bottoms of the doors and raptored them. So this is going to be a slow and steady project but i can't wait... its hard going from a head turning yj to a stock xj so I might as well start compensating.

Just Finished the RC 4.5" aal lift. Said 4 hours for install but it took about 6. Took it out for a test run and it developed a mean death wobble, hoping its just an alignment issue, if not then I'll probably end up getting the adj trac bar.

I'd check the track bar mount. Sometimes the hole gets wallowed out causing play. Check all your front suspension and steering parts for play.

Got the DW figured out front of the tires was 59.25" and the back was 60.75". Straightened it all up after a little honey goo and heat she rides a lot better. Mounted up a skid plate that i had kicking around from the old one and mounted the disco mounts on it, got em all lubed up and came up with some posers in the driveway. its with the front disconected and the rear track bar removed. Gotta say it made it look easy(not that its a tough obstacle) compared to my stiff springed yj.

Up next is wiring up some daylighters to mount on the roof rack. I am into the expedition/safari look. Planning on building a rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier and a front winch bumper for my 8500 SW with some tow hooks

Stay tuned. I apologize for thye crap pics they were taken with the bb.

Finally an update!! been incredibly busy lately and haven't been in the garage as much as I want to, new developments are my new Front Bumper from Dirtbound Offroad
I ordered the weld it yourself kit and think it turned out great!

Ordered in some 9W 12V LED MR16 bulbs for an LED light bar, I found some bulbs that put out about 550 lumens each, trying to figure out how to make a vapour tight housing to clip the bulbs into that will still alow airflow to carry the off the heatsinks. I know its not going to rival Rigid industries it'll more than likely turn into a roof flood light bar. Ideally I want to keep it as lo profile as possible, but still get the most useful light pattern for these lights, I'll keep posting up my progress, any insight into the bar will help.
